Program Description
During the first year, students have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills. The program provides an overview of the major components of Computer Technology including website design, computer programming, hardware maintenance/troubleshooting and basic network administration (Windows, Linux, and DOS).
There is a strong emphasis on problem-solving skills and working independently. Students do not need any previous computer background for this class.
The second year of the program is the internationally recognized Cisco Academy. Students learn both the theory and practice of network administration. The curriculum involves hands-on programming of network devices like routers and switches.
Additionally, students delve deeply into the theory behind network design and learn everything from making network cable to understanding how information flows from one network to another. The course prepares students for the Cisco Certified INTRO exam.
