National Technical Honor Society Inductees

The TST BOCES National Technical Honor Society recently inducted 10 new members from the Department of Career and Technical Education The ceremony took place on the BOCES campus in the Roy Dexheimer Building. Dr. Ellen O’Donnell, District Superintendant, opened the ceremony congratulatory remarks to the inductees and everyone who contributed to their success. Current members led the rest of the candle lighting ceremony assisted by Mrs. Heather Cooper, NTHS advisor and Mr. Perry Dewey, principal.

New inductees are:

• Tasha Hatch, Cosmetology, Groton High
• Chelsey Kenney, Trumansburg High
• Jeffrey Kohman, Culinary Arts, Lansing High
• Shawn Ruebel, Criminal Justice, Ithaca High
• Michael Soule, Welding, Ithaca High
• Chad Talbot, Computer Technology, Newfield High
• Peter Tselekis, Automotive Technology, Ithaca High
• Logan Wannall, Auto Body, Groton High

Criteria for induction include having 5 or less days of absence in the first half of the academic year, an average of at least 90% in CTE classes and at least an 85% average in academic studies and written nominations from teachers and counselors.
